Media Literacy Council
The Media Literacy Council was set up to work with the Industry , Community and Government to promote an astute and responsible participatory culture. Its main roles include advising the Government on research, trends and developments pertaining to the Internet and media, and appropriate policy responses; and developing public awareness and education programmes relating to media literacy and cyber wellness.
The Council was formed in the face of widespread negative perceptions of online safety, cyberbullying and privacy. The new Council branding and positioning would need to gain trust, respect and credibility in an increasingly interactive and participatory media landscape.
A vibrant and distinctive brand logo was created to symbolise its collaborative and consultative nature. It also represents the composition of representatives from the community, public and private sector. Colours and typeface were chosen to bring to life a vibrant, approachable and engaging brand personality. The project includes developing a comprehensive website, mascot character and user-friendly visual identity guide to help users adapt the brand appropriately across a variety of brand communications.
