Gus’s career path that spans over 25 years has been an exciting one, covering a scope that ranges from multimedia production, advertising to consultancy and management. It has also been an illustrious one with him having taken on the post of director and country representative at the various organisations that he has been part of several times. Such rich experience, together with strong knowledge in management and of local markets, has made Gus an asset to atomz as we embark on our next phase of growth in the region.
Gus had an early start in the creative field becoming a producer and sound engineer at some of the most established production houses in Singapore. Apart from managing the studio, he was actively involved in providing other creative services such as producing and directing to advertising agencies. Gus was responsible for the management and production of numerous events such as product launches, Sales & marketing promotions and dealer and distributor conventions for advertising agencies. Gus gained greater experienced in advertising production and management from his stints at Grant Kenyon & Eckhardt, Ogilvy and Mather, Graphic Communications, Audio Visual Workshop and Dailey, Naidu & Chan. He developed a true passion for creative communications that has only continued to grow especially since coming on board the atomz team.
Gus was headhunted to join Pico Communications, Singapore, from Dailey Naidu & Chan to take on the heavy responsibilities of venue and event management of the then, newly completed Raffles City Convention Center. His strength in his role soon won him the opportunity to spearhead; advice on and later, managed the establishment and operation of another arm of the giant Pico enterprise in Indonesia.
He reprised his role as a company representative to the country for a regional design house and had amongst his clientele, the Hyatt Regency Jakarta, Bandung and Surabaya, Lippo Karawaci Tbk., Bentoel amongst others. The significant amount of time Gus has spent in Indonesia has helped him build a wealth of knowledge and familiarity about its market. It has also allowed him to gradually establish a sizable network useful in the business. He currently sits on the executive committee of the Singapore Association in Indonesia as its President and is working on a board of founder members from the Singapore government agencies, EBD, IE and Singapore business community in Indonesia to establish a proposed Singapore Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia. A devoted Christian and an active Rotarian, Gus has devoted much time, expertise and money to serve humanitarian needs in Indonesia. Gus was elected to serve as the District Governor for Rotary International District 3400, covering the entire Indonesia, from July 2007- June 2008.
Coupled with the experience of being an accomplished entrepreneur of a conference, exhibition, event promotion organiser and management company, Gus is proud to join atomz as a managing partner and be able to add greater value to the company. He applies his capabilities, sharp business acumen and market foresight to managing and delivers results to clients with the highest degree of professionalism.
Gus’s skills, networking clout and experience are in synergy with the talents of the company’s other partners in propelling atomz towards further success beyond local shores.
