The BCA Green Buildings Exhibition is a series of events held to raise the awareness of living green in green buildings. Its goal is to inform the public on the many ways that Singapore is going green, especially when it comes to how buildings will be built green from here on, and that many of the professionals involved are also using their knowledge with a greener approach. The goal of our campaign was to create awareness of these exhibitions.
Ideas
In order to create an identity for the series of exhibitions, and possibly even further campaign usage, the team created 2 mascots for BCA – Beco the Green Home and Greco the Green Building. All collaterals featured them, and both characters were done in a cartoon-style that was appealing to both adults and children alike.
The media used were also diverse, covering print in the form of press and outdoor advertising, digital on Facebook and also radio. Bus hangers were also used, and proved to be very popular.
Impact
Beco and Greco were an instant hit! The first in the series of exhibitions was a resounding success with many people even requesting more copies of some of the souvenirs involved. More importantly, the campaign managed what it set out to do – to generate an interest in greening our world. Within a short span of 7 months, we have amassed more than 2,000 fans on our Facebook page and engaged more than 4,000 unique visitors in our game play! Come visit us on our Facebook page.
