Agency of the Year (AOTY) Awards ‘10

June 2, 2010

We snagged some souvenirs home at the Marketing Magazine’s Agency of the Year (AOTY) Awards 2010!

For one night (only), most of us at atomz knocked off early, wore our best suits or dresses (I swore some wore both!) and made our way to Shangri-La Hotel.

Like all respectable awards shows, there was the red carpet (albeit blue), the glitz and glamour, and some famous faces. This is probably the closest we’ll ever get to attending the Academy Awards and we’re here to make it a night to remember.

And what a night it was! We sat through some inspiring speeches and unfunny jokes, saw some head-turning gowns, and applauded the usual suspects when they expanded their already extensive metal collection (all well-deserving winners for their inspiring work).

atomz was nominated for some awards too. Up for our grab included the Local Hero categories for Brand Consultancy of the Year—Corporate ID, Product and Packaging, Creative Agency of the Year—Traditional Media, and finally, Brand Consultancy of the Year—Overall Brand Strategy (which we won!). But hey, finishing behind Kinectic and Bonsey was no shame really. And props to the rest of the nominees too.

2009 was a challenging year for everyone, but this win made the hard work worthwhile. We couldn’t have achieved it without our clients’ support and they’ve indeed made our 10th anniversary sweet.

For those keeping score, here’s our result:
Brand Consultancy of the Year—Corporate ID, Product and Packaging: Local Hero Finalist
Creative Agency of the Year—Traditional Media: Local Hero Finalist
Brand Consultancy of the Year—Overall Brand Strategy: Local Hero Winner

Note to clients: please vote for us again next year, so we can wear our best suits—and dresses—again ;)
